Charlotte
has always enjoyed cooking and art and combined them to start decorating
cakes. It's been a dream of hers to open her own bakery.
Her roots in cake decorating go back to taking a class
at Michaels in her early teens. Once she was old enough, she started working at Dairy Queen as their cake
decorator which she did for several years.
She also prepared desserts for Driftwood Eatery in downtown Springfield.
After graduating LLCC with a degree in science, she
began their culinary arts program where she fine tuned her baking skills and
learned about restaurant management.
She began baking cakes at home for friends and family
but started to outgrow her cottage food operation. This summer, she found a
perfect location to open her very own bakery and
Charlotte's Cakes now has a storefront. She
celebrated her grand opening Sept. 11th, 2017.
